Fellow members and supporters.

I am delighted to say that we are able to start Mini and Junior Training from Sunday 6th September, with all sides then back to playing rugby! The clubhouse main bar has now been open for many weeks and we have slowly phased back our senior and junior sides to training over the summer. We are starting to get back to a bit of normality, although different to reflect the current environment.

Firstly, I want to thank our volunteers for the many hours they have put in to make this happen. To ensure the Rugby Club is ready and following all the government legislation, has meant a massive number of tasks to undertake.

All Teams have a coaching risk assessment and are fully compliant with the Rugby Football Union’s Stage D guidance and Public Health England guidance. We require that a Covid 19 Checker is completed before arrival at training, that we sign in – QR code (whether training or visiting the bar) and practice social distancing as appropriate.

Players (and their Parents for Mini and Juniors) are also reminded to bring their own small bottle of hand sanitiser with them to sessions, to bring a named water bottle and to follow the guidance as set out by their Team Manager/Head Coach before retuning to training.

Having gone to the effort of making both our rugby and our bar safe, it is now over to you as club users. The processes that the club has put in place, are there to keep you, your fellow members, and your family safe. We ask that as you come back to the club that you do not take shortcuts and follow the requirements that are now in place.

We know that old habits are hard to break and we know that the experience will be different, but we all want rugby back and that can only happen if we work together.

In the meantime, lets enjoy what we have and try to support your club by having a socially distanced drink or by ensuring you, or your child gets back to rugby training. We await further guidance on when games will re-commence but we can use this time to make sure that we are fighting fit, developing our skill set and ready to go when we can finally get back to games of rugby.

Regards

George
