Following the government's announcement of a national lockdown in England from 5th November, all rugby activity will end following our junior training on Wednesday night (4th November).
Our clubhouse and the club gym are also required to close from this date.
We are anticipating a return to rugby in December but information will follow closer to the time, when the RFU/DCMS position becomes clearer.
We are hopeful that in the New Year, with national measures reduced, that a 15 a side version of the game will be introduced. This may not be to everyone's preference, likely to have no scrums and mauls, but for most will be a big improvement on the 10 a side touch rugby currently allowed.
Many of you will be aware that the RFU has cancelled the league framework for adult/senior rugby for this season, the exceptions being the Premiership, Championship and the Premier 15s. We have yet to hear about the under 18 and mini and junior game at this time.
So any return to rugby fixtures will be via local 'friendlies' or a locally organised cup competition.
Finally, a thank you should go to all those who have supported rugby to return safely over the last few months.
It has been different, but enjoyable none the less, with good playing numbers across the club.
